Tell Me Everything: Coaching

Let me take you on a journey—picture this: my mom and I are at a networking event, surrounded by the usual suspects of small talk, charcuterie, and an abundance of tomatoes (seriously, this woman eats them like it's an Olympic sport). Amidst the chatter about the weather and my beloved feline companion, there's a momentary lull as my mom steps away to replenish our tomato stash.

Now, in the mere blink of an eye—or, more accurately, a minute and a half—our newfound acquaintance has spilled her life story to me, tears and all. It's like she's opened a Pandora's box of personal revelations, leaving me there. And all it took was a quick tomato run.

This scenario, my friends, is just one of many instances where people feel compelled to share their deepest secrets and innermost thoughts with me, a total stranger. Nothing seems off-limits, even if we've only exchanged pleasantries for a hot minute, whether it's a confession about upcoming surgery or a rant about their less-than-stellar love life.

"You always get me talking, Tanesha," they'll say, followed by the classic disclaimer: "This is probably TMI, but..." And let me tell you, after hearing everything from relationship drama to career woes, not much shocks me anymore.

But here's the kicker—I'll let you in on a little secret: deep down, I'm not exactly what you'd call a "people person." Sure, I thrive on the energy of human interaction, but loving people unconditionally? Well, let's say it's a work in progress. God is continuously doing His thing.

Enter coaching—a game-changer in more ways than one. It's taught me to be less judgmental and more empathetic, recognizing that each person is the expert of their own life. Who am I to judge their choices or dictate their path? Instead of doling out advice like candy, I'm here to offer guidance, support, and maybe the occasional gentle nudge in the right direction.

And you know what? It's an honor to play even the most minor role in someone's self-discovery and personal growth journey. So, as long as people keep oversharing (which, let's face it, they probably will), I'll be here—listening, supporting, and shining a little light wherever I go.

Because in a world where everyone's looking for answers, sometimes all it takes is a listening ear and a sprinkle of positivity to make a real difference. And hey, if you're ever in need of a bit of guidance yourself, well, you know where to find me. Let's make some magic happen together.
